Strong collaborations for this research are imperative for translational success.

A/Prof Jeffrey Craig and his team at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Melbourne are established collaborators. A/Prof Craig is an epigeneticist and twin researcher with over 20 years’ experience and a growing international reputation. He leads the Early Life Epigenetics Research Group at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and is at the forefront of genome-wide methylation analysis. He the Deputy Director of Twins Research Australia and is a dedicated advocate for twin research.

Professor Samuel Berkovic is the Director of the Epilepsy Research Centre, University of Melbourne, Austin Health and is an established mentor and collaborator. He is a neurologist and international leader in the field of epilepsy genetics who over the last three decades has established a large cohort of clinical samples and a multi-disciplinary research program and a very strong track record of success in utilising these for gene discovery.
