RoCan Trust donates $150,000 to ovarian cancer research

11 Jul 2011

The RoCan (Rotarians against Ovarian Cancer) Trust recently committed to donating $150,000 to UQCCR over three years. This gift is for the purpose of developing better diagnostic tests for earlier detection and screening of ovarian cancer.

Recently, RoCan representative Yvonne Moon (pictured) met with Professor Murray Mitchell (UQCCR Centre Director) to present the first cheque for $50,000.

The purpose of this partnership is to fund a 3-year appointment for a suitably qualified researcher to join the Ovarian Cancer Research Team at UQCCR, and to build upon recent advances in developing multiple biomarker blood tests for the earlier detection of ovarian cancer.
