Ella will give an overview on the recent gonorrhoea multi-drug resistant strain reported in the UK and Australia, 2018. This will entail a comparison to similar strains in recent years, and why this time we’re a little more concerned. She will discuss the importance of a timely laboratory response to control the spread of such strains/ resistance mechanisms and demonstrate how such a response was  facilitated by the National Neisseria Network.
