Dr Shayna Sharma is an early career researcher with a strong record of accomplishment relative to the opportunities. She graduated with a PhD in July 2020, and has consistently demonstrated dedication towards building her research career, by publications (8), actively presenting at conferences (35), being involved in student supervision and mentoring, and through participation in several committees such as the Faculty of Medicine Higher Degree by Research Student Committee (Role: Chair). 

She completed a Bachelor of Science (Hons I) in 2016, at the Exosome Biology Laboratory, UQ Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR), and was awarded the Deans Commendation for Academic Excellence. Her project focused on the role of small extracellular vesicles, known as exosomes, in ovarian cancer. She worked in a NATA accredited research and development laboratory, which gave her the opportunity to work with quality control systems. Upon completion of her Honours project, she continued her work in the field of ovarian cancer whilst undertaking her PhD. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Exosome Biology Lab at UQCCR.
