About the Speaker
David Markwell is a Director of Commercialisation in Life-Sciences at UniQuest and is based at UQCCR on Mondays and Wednesday (office on level 8 of UQCCR). Email: d.markwell@uniquest.com.au
In his role David works closely with UQ researchers in identifying, protecting, and commercialising intellectual property through licensing and start-ups. He is an Intellectual Property and Commercialisation professional with over 13 years’ experience in commercialising research outcomes from publicly funded research organisations, across a broad range of technology fields and industry segments. David has led and closed technology transfer deals, managed diverse IP portfolios, and developed and executed commercialisation strategies for a broad range of research innovations.
