Network Organisation and Circuitry of Tonic-Clonic Seizures with Dr John Phamnguyen
Dr John Phamnguyen is a neurologist completing his PhD at the Centre for Advanced Imaging at the University of Queensland, with his research focus on understanding the brain structures and networks responsible for tonic-clonic seizures. Dr. Phamnguyen completed his medical training at Griffith University, followed by general neurology training at several tertiary hospitals in Sydney, including an epilepsy fellowship at Westmead Hospital. During his fellowship, he gained experience in evaluating patients with drug-refractory epilepsy and using epilepsy multimodal neuroimaging (MRI/PET/SPECT).

The UQ Centre of Clinical Research (UQCCR) and Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital Neurology department have partnered to present a monthly seminar series with the aim to facilitate greater links between neurologists and basic neuroscientists; encouraging collaborations as well as synergy within our brain, neurology and mental health group. The series is hybrid held in person and via Teams.
