Presenter: Dr Natasha Roberts

Natasha Roberts is an early career clinician researcher, a senior research fellow in UQCCR and also holds an appointment as a Conjoint Clinical Research Fellow with the Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) in Metro North.  Natasha currently has a Metro North Clinical Research Fellowship in partnership with UQCCR.  With over 30 years nursing experience, including training in intensive care and specialising in cancer nursing, Natasha’s research areas include health services research, health equity, implementation science and quality of life.  Natasha attained her Bachelor of Nursing degree in 1994, her Honours degree in 2001 and her PhD in 2021.

Proteome of the fetal growth restriction piglet model: a step towards blood biomarkers to detect adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes

Presenter: Hannah Musco
Hannah Musco is a 2nd year PhD student at the UQCCR Perinatal Research Centre under the supervision of Dr Julie Wixey. After completing her Bachelor of Laws (Hons)/Bachelor of Science in 2020 at UQ, Hannah went on to pursue her interest in neuroscience through completing Honours at the Mater Research Institute – UQ with the Cognitive Health Genomics Group. Her current research project uses proteomics in a preclinical animal model to investigate potential blood biomarkers for identifying risk of adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes in infants with fetal growth restriction. Identifying infants at increased risk of these adverse outcomes would enable earlier supports and interventions to be implemented, thereby improving long-term outcomes.
